Introduction
Theatrical Headshots

Theatrical Headshots

Having a strong headshot is essential to every actor. Your headshot must really look like you and grab the attention of the viewer. People mistakingly believe that a theatrical headshot is merely a photo without a smile. It's so much more than that. There has to be something going on behind your eyes. Since thought becomes action, it's my goal to use the tools I've learned as an actor to work with you to bring out that expression and feeling which will set your headshot apart from the rest.

Comparing photographers? Ask these questions! Here are my answers:
1. How soon will I see the photos?
I'll upload your proofs to a professional website for a simple selection process within 24-48 hours (often times before you even make it back home)
2.  Do you shoot indoors or outside?
I shoot indoors (yay for AC!) with natural light and some studio lighting for hair and background
3.  How soon do you give me the edits once I choose my favorites?
Your final edits will be sent in a downloadable link within 1-5 days, depending on how many looks and final edits you have. (most of the time I can get them to you in 24 hours)
4.  Do you use different backgrounds for each look/character?
Yes! I have multiple backgrounds and use a different one with each look. The goal is for you not to look like you had all of your shots done in the same day.
5. How long have you been shooting headshots?
While I developed a love for photography starting around 1983, I began shooting headshots in 2012.
6. Do you charge by the hour or by the image & how long is the session?
My rates are based on how many looks we shoot. Most people need 2-3 looks but some may need up to 5 and others only 1. My day is yours when we shoot so I don't watch the clock and we do what it takes to nail each look. Most sessions last around 90 mins - 3 hours from time of arrival to when we're finished. Again, this depends greatly on how many looks and if you have a make-up artist or not. *Ask perspective photographers this b/c the ones who offer specials or low cost one look sessions often only give you 30 mins. Everyone takes time to warm up in front of the camera.
7.  Do you have a make-up artist you work with if I need one?
Yes! Sometimes clients want to work with a make-up artist if they have specific or several looks and I have someone you can contact if you're interested. She's wonderful!
